Kevin has more than twenty years of key expertise in mine operations management and optimisation, having worked at all levels including miner, shiftboss, captain, superintendent and mine manager at three operations in Ireland. Kevin has managed both the start-up and closure stages of mining projects, including recruitment, training, safety governance and procedure implementation, production ramp-up, asset optimisation programmes and mine structure operating parameters. Kevin has managed projects for non-standard ground support including pressure grouting, spiling, cable bolting and arch installation. Kevin has key skills relating to backfill technology, including barricade technology and cycle time optimisation. Kevin has led several operational efficiency and safety improvement programmes at Lisheen Mine resulting in higher production rates and improved safety.

With LTMS, Kevin has managed training programmes for miners, maintenance and mining engineering personnel and master trainer and supervisor programmes in India, Russia, Kazakhstan and South Africa, including the development of a Mining Academy at Nordgold in Russia.
